The American River College in Sacramento is a State Funded two-year college about 8 minutes from the Lions Gate Hotel, making Lions Gate Hotel the ideal lodging for students, future students, and alumni. It is part of the Los Rios Community College District which also includes Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College. Accredited by the prestigious Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of The Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the American River College also offers several programs with official public recognition.

The American River College currently serves 32,000 full and part-time students, with 74% who are considered part-time.
